BASE METAL WRAP: Nickel was poised to advance for a fifth week on concern ore supply will decline as the Philippines considers banning exports of unprocessed minerals.

ENERGY WRAP: West Texas Intermediate headed for a weekly decline as U.S. refineries reduced operating rates at the end of the peak season for gasoline demand in the world’s biggest oil consumer. Brent was steady in London.

PRECIOUS METAL WRAP: Gold and silver sank to 12-week lows as the dollar strengthened before data that may back the case for the Federal Reserve to raise borrowing costs at a time when the European Central Bank boosts stimulus. Platinum dropped to the lowest level in more than four months.
