Energy Preview: Crude Jumps Near Rs 4000 Per Barrel On MCXk.
WTI Crude surged above $58 per barrel in Asia today amid continued worries over Middle East. The counter currently trades at $58.42 per barrel, up 0.64% on the day. MCX Crude closed at Rs 3987 per barrel, up nearly 2% on the day. Large energy speculators reduced their bullish net positions in the WTI Crude Oil futures markets last week, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on Friday. The non-commercial futures contracts of WTI Crude Oil futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net position of 397,851 contracts in the data reported through Tuesday July 23rd. This was a weekly decline of -25,911 net contracts from the previous week.
